The History of Gorilla Glue

The History of Gorilla Glue

Gorilla Glue (also known as Gorilla Glue #1) has quickly become a favorite strain among consumers. Due to its high percentage of THC, it provides a powerful and sedative effect. For this very reason, therefore, it is essential to take it very sparingly and consciously.

Read on to find out what its origins and distinguishing characteristics are!

Origins of Gorilla Glue

This variety was born from the combination of genetics such as Chem’s Sister, Chocolate Diesel and Sour Dubb. History tells us that this strain was accidentally created by two growers, Joesy Whales and Lonie Watie. Joesy’s Chem’s Sister plants would, in fact, pollinate his Sour Dubb. Joesy would eliminate this strain from his cultivation, but for some reason his partner would keep some seeds. Later, the boys would germinate these seeds thus creating Gorilla Glue.

As for the name, Gorilla Glue would be chosen because of the high resin production offered by this strain. However, it could also derive from the surprisingly relaxing effect.

Characteristics of Gorilla Glue

Gorilla Glue is an inflorescence that shares many of the attributes of Chocolate Diesel, giving users both a smell and flavor reminiscent of coffee and mocha notes. However, don’t let the delicious tones fool you, as this strain also releases a sour diesel flavor. It is recognized for its earthy and pungent attributes that many compare to its sister varieties.

It is distinguished by its extraordinary concentration of aromatic trichomes. These provide this variety with a superior taste that blends earthy and sweet nuances with lemon and pine tones. Its predominant characteristic is its enormous resin production, which makes the buds and the plant itself very sticky.

Its inflorescences are of medium density and have a light green color, embellished with trichomes and orange pistils that stand out on the surface.

The effects of Gorilla Glue

The effects of this cannabis strain, while very intense, are not only unilateral. When taken, it causes deep relaxation, but it also provides a slight hint of euphoria. Due to its potency, it is also an excellent choice for medicinal users. In fact, its high THC content can provide relief for various conditions and ailments, such as chronic pain, insomnia, and depression.

Its potency, aroma and extraordinary effects make Gorilla Glue an unmistakable strain and ideal for an unforgettable experience.

It is important to note that high use of this cannabis strain can cause some side effects that should not be underestimated: among the most common are anxiety and paranoia.

Its cultivation

Gorilla Glue is quite easy to grow, even for the inexperienced. In indoor environments, the plants tend to reach a height of about 150 cm, with a production yield of 550-600 g/m². Grown outdoors, on the other hand, this marijuana strain can easily reach 190cm in height, if well protected from rain and frost, producing about 500-600 g of plant matter per plant.

In both cases, flowering time is about 8 to 9 weeks. Plants require regular pruning to produce a satisfactory amount of buds.
